Chiropractic Technique ~ Chiropractic Massage
"Chiropractic massage is an adjunct to the chiropractic adjustment."
If the chiropractic adjustment reduces subluxation between vertebrae, any type of muscle work such as massage adds
benefit to help hold the bones in alignment.
Many kinds of massage are used in most offices. The principle is to work the soft
tissue -- in this case the muscles into a more pliable tissue. When this happens
the person becomes relaxed and the body heals better in this state.
Chiropractic massage is done by a practitioner either by hand or with an
instrument designed to work the tissues. It can either be done before or after a
chiropractic adjustment.
Sometimes the massage can be done without an adjustment when the muscles are in
need of attention and repair.
Most chiropractic offices have massage of some kind available to their patients.
