Pain & Symptoms - Joint Pain
"Joint pain can limit your activities when it doens't have to. There are two things to do."
First, avoid the weight-bearing activites. If you constantly walk on concrete floors or wear shoes that are not supportive you are sending stress up through your joints. The physical stress will find its way to the weakened bone structures and continue wearing them out. Stop the trauma to your joints.
You need to do the things that will reduce the inflammation. This is the prime source of irritation in a joint. We use cold lasers in the office to reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and speed healing. People have used ice on a joint for pain relief and the reduction of swelling.
The next thing to do is to support the joint. Is it misaligned? It has to be re-aligned properly through gentle adjusting. Are the muscles surrounding the joint weak. They need to be strengthened. Is there adequate nerve supply to the joint? It has to be supplied.
If you have small joint pain (not small pain) then you most likely have a metabolic problem -- something is wrong in your metabolism and acid crystals are forming in and around the joint. This is a nutritional problem and needs to be addressed before more joints become problematic.
Is medication your answer? Its not going fix the problem.
Where is your pain? How long has been there? Is it time to find out what's going on and get in to do something about it?
